HABITAT HOMES
Now Known as Holly Homes after our former HDC president, Holly F. Baumgartner, who's desire to support our local community began our pathway to habitat donations.
HDC is a proud sponsor of Habitat for Humanity, working to provide safe and affordable home ownership in our local community. We fund our Habitat projects through our HDC.

Since 2013, the club has furnished and decorated 12 Habitat for Humanity homes in Lake and Sumter counties. In 2021 we began calling them Holly House in memory of Holly Baumgartner, our former president, who founded the project with her vice president, Ellen Broedlin.
​
In 2019, The Villages Charter School Construction Academy (The Buffalo Builders) teamed up with Habitat to build the homes. This has given the students immeasurable experiences and frequently provided the local companies who train them with ready-to-be-employed graduates - a win-win all around!

2026 Coming this fall!
For 2025, Our Club was proud to donate $15,000.00 to the Habitat for Sumter county to support a family with a young child with disabilities. Our donation was matched by Romac Building Supply for a total of $30,000.00!
